March 19-20 is the NC SCCA March Madness event at VIR - why not meet there? The area near turns 4 and 5 is a great viewing location and is usually pretty empty at SCCA events. My daughter is in a horse show on Saturday but I intend to be at VIR on Sunday. Either day strikes me as being a cool place to meet if you have the time to spare.

Sorry, I should add that VIR allows for track touring during SCCA weekends when you can take your MINI on the track to run laps during lunctime (I believe from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Sunday). You are not allowed to pass for safety reasons but a string of MINIs can certainly keep pace with each other. Proceeds go to charity.

I may be able to make this if it's going to be at the Hibernian Pub. I'll keep and eye on this thread to see if it stays there or you take NCDave's idea.

It's usually the third Sunday, which would make it March 20th. Chris must have put down the wrong date, unless something has changed.

I didn't mean to throw a wrench in the works but thought it would be a different idea inasmuch as it falls on the third Sunday. For those of you who may not have been to VIR before, it's as pretty as Road America but only 1 1/4 hours away!

Never took it that way. I've been feeling a bit under the weather as of late. I'm not interested in going, but I'm sure that there are other people who would love to go and would prefer to go there instead of sitting in a restaurant. Get their MINIs on the road! I can't speak for the rest of the bunch on this though, but I'm sure everything will be cool!

I won't be attending in either case. Sorry.

NCDave...the VIR trip is a good idea, though.

It should be the 20th... I edited the original post.

I thought about a "field trip" for this month.

I had thought about have the meeting in Laurinburg (Maxton Airport) to watch the Tarheel Sports Car Club Autocross, but wasn't sure how many would attend and it is 1 1/2 hours from Raleigh (except Moorlockx... a 10 minute drive I guess)

In fact, GetShorty will be there on Sat and Sun, Audioman and I will be there on Saturday.

Well, if it's only a couple of us for Sunday, we could just have the meeting on Saturday in Laurinburg. It seems a majority of us will be in the area.

I like the idea of the "field trip"... do we need to get sign permission slips?
As Chris stated, I will be there on Saturday, I will be back there on Sunday for the main event.

This would be a perfect place for M2C2r's to show up and check out the Autocross and see how much fun we can have with these cars in a safe environment.
It will be my first time out, and it would be cool to see the MINIs in force

Hope you feel better Michelle! Weather permitting - I'll be at VIR on Sunday - can't miss the first SCCA event of the year . . . Besides, we need to ensure that MINIs are represented!

Ooohhh VIR!!!
I wish I could be in 2 places at once!
If I could only find one of those watches used in Harry Potter.

Have a great time there... I want to get back out there for a track event sometime this spring.

Cheers,
Keith

That's cool since I won't be able to make it. I have way too much work to finish in my bathroom.

Have fun!
