siruis install

How easy is it to install the OEM Sirius system after you have the car. I was going to just go ahead and get the system when I order the car, but I would wrather keep my car payments low and just buy the Siruis system later with cash.

Is it just a matter of buying the entenna and an install kit? Or is it hard to do like some of the other options are. For example, I am getting the LSD when I order the car because it is supposedly integraded into the tranny so it is near impossible to install aftermaket. Would I have to buy a whole new head unit or anything? I already have a subscription to Sirius, so those costs are taken care of already.

The kit is a bracket, a tuner and a replacement antenna.

The head unit is satellite ready and the car is pre-wired. I've read that the hardest part is removing the original antenna and replacing it with the AM/FM/Sirius antenna.

I hope to add the factory Sirius setup to my '04 MCS later this year.

If you have the Nav system do you still need to change the antenna (on the 05)?

I don't know. I do know that the Nav antenna will not work for Sirius and vice versa. Naturally, there are work-arounds for having both, but they are not factory supported.

My understanding this was fixed for the 05 models.

I haven't seen a definitive answer on the '05 antenna. If you have, could you point me to it?

Anyway, my point was that a NAV antenna will not pick up Sirius signals and a Sirius antenna will not pick up NAV signals (at least not very well in either case). Unless the '05 antenna will do AM/FM/Sirius/NAV, there will still be a compatibility issue to address.
