GPS aftermarket

I am interested in a GPS for the Mini. What are some of the best moving map choices?

Might want to check out the Nav & Audio section. Lots of GPS threads there.

I would suggest you set up some parameters:
Is this just for the MINI or do you want to move it car to car?
Auto only, or would you want to use it out of the vehicle?
Do you want the whole US?
Touch screen?
Voice prompts?
Price range?

Then people can give you some informed opinions. The 'best' depends on what you want!

Take a look at Street Atlas 2005 pda edition or ALK's Copilot Live |pocket pc edition.

these are probably the 2 best software packages available for nav on a pocket pc. I just picked up an HP ipaq on ebay and bought the delorme bluelogger (bluetooth gps receiver) to use along with the ipaq. I am going to mount the ipaq in the car on a flexible gooseneck pda mount. This way, I can always take the pda with me along with the gps receiver (smaller than a cell phone) and use it in other cars or on foot.

both software packages offer moving maps, voice prompts, and all of the other features of modern nav systems. I think that ALK is better than street atlas '05, but since the receiver and the software were bundled, I thought i would give it a try. ALK also offers a competetive upgrade for 100 so i will get that if i have issues with street atlas.
