FS: XM Roady 2 + Home Kits + Antenna Extension
New Lower Price! FS: XM Roady 2 + Home Kits + Antenna Extension
If you have been contemplating getting XM Satellite radio service then you may want to take a look at what I have.
I have the Roady 2 XM tuner which I have been using since August. Works wondefully. It came with the micro antenna to mount on the car, cigarette lighter power adaptor and a tape deck converter so you can play it through a cassette player. It has an FM Modulator built in.
I bought a home kit for it which includes a nice stand, a remote control, AC power adaptor and an antenna. I then bought a 50' Antenna Extension cable so I could have it in my office at work. I put the antenna at a window about 40' away.
I also have a second home kit which I just got recently as a rebate. It has another AC power adaptor, another home antenna and a stand which isn't as nice as the other one but is still functional.
If you were interested in getting XM you could have it in your home, office and car with this set up. The Roady 2 cost me $140, the home kit $40, the extension cable $50 and the 2nd home kit was free. I'd be willing to sell it all for $115 Shipped!
If I can't sell it here I'll put it up on Ebay but I'd much rather deal with a NAM member.

I'm selling it because I no longer wish to use XM. I plan to get an IPOD and hook that up to my stereo at work and to the aftermarket stereo I am putting in the MINI.
The Roady2 has 3 ways it can be listened to in the car. You can use the built in FM Modulator. I don't recommend that way since it has some static (not the roady's fault, FM's fault). You can use the supplied cassette adaptor which plugs into the line-out on the Roady 2 but I doubt you have a cassette player in your MINI. That leaves option 3...Blitzsafe probably (although I don't know for sure) makes an adaptor which turns the cd changer plug on the MINI factory H/U into an auxiliary input. You could then you a mini-jack to rca jack cable and plug it into that. Let me know if that isn't clear and I'll try and explain it better.
I honestly have no complaints about the hardware. I'd just rather have my own 55GB of music to listen to than what the radio has to offer.
Let me know if you are interested.

There's a factory AUX input option for most MINI stereos...runs about $40-50. I used that when I was using the Roady2. If you're interested in a way to mount the thing, there's a writeup and pix here:

Guys, save me the trouble of having to put it up on Ebay. I'll be cancelling the XM service in the next week or so and then I'll have to put it up on Ebay to make some of my money back.
$125 for everything and I'll pay for shipping to where ever you are.
