Any AMVIV Friday Departures?
Any AMVIV Friday Departures?
Is anyone leaving for Vegas on the Friday, from Los Angeles area? If so, what time. Also, if there are any Friday caravans, please post.
thanks in advance.
thanks in advance.
I'm leaving on Friday, sometime around lunch time. I'm trying to balance getting some work done in the morning with making it out in time for the C3 welcome dinner. I haven't seen any caravan's for Friday though.
Where will you be heading out from and what time were you thinking of leaving?

Yeah, I was doing the same thing!... Wanted to try get some work done and make the dinner, lol.
I was planning on leaving lunch time 12-1, leaving from where the 405 meets the 10.... planned route is 10 East to the 15.

That may work, although I probably won't know until later today. There is the possibility I may need to go over to the valley tomorrow on my way out of town. I wouldn't caravan if that happens, since I'm not sure how long that side trip could take. I'll post or PM you when I know one way or the other.

Be forewarned, Friday afternoon traffic to Vegas from LA can be crap! Last year there was a three hour backup coming from LA. I suggest leaving as early as possible to beat the mad rush which also gives you a few hours of "accident" time, if you need it.

Dave, PM me as soon as you know about the valley, then we can plan from there.
Talk to you later.

I'm leaving today.
To all those leaving and coming back to LA from Vegas.
Don't go I-10 to I-15 ... It's horrible.
Here's the route which I've used many times to get to Vegas from LA.
405 N
5 N
14 E
58 E
You hook up with I-15 in Barstow
If you've made this drive from LA before, you know that most of the traffic is all the way up to Barstow, then things clear up.
You totally avoid the traffic this way.
Same applies for the way back, get off on 58, and head West to 14.
58 takes you by Edwards AFB, there's always some interesting stuff flying around there. You also pass by a massive commercial aircraft graveyard in Mojave.
There's gas/food/services all the way along 14, and 58
Sure, this way might be slightly longer, but you'll be laughing at the people caught in traffic.

My wife and I will be leaving bright and early tomorrow (Friday) morning from Fresno and heading to AMVIV2. We'll be leaving the Central Valley at 6am-ish. The Venom NO2 bottle is full and we adjusted the Beltronics radar system to optimal long-distance detection. Ta-dow see if you can catch me now 5-0.
I know there is a group from MiniManiacs gathering at Ontario Mills, near Krispy Kreme, at 930 with a 10 am departure. Unsure of the head count and I won't be there as we need to arrive in LV earlier for some "stripe work."
Ok.
Just an fyi for any local MINI's wanting to join DiD and I.
AMVIV bound departure leaving from the Winchells Donuts on Santa Monica and Sepulveda Blvd at 12.30pm
Sorry for the short notice. See you guys in Vegas.
