MINI of Concord just opened up their new MINI service center, and one can get an appointment set up within a few days or less in most cases.

Contact David Savell, MINI service advisor, at 925-682-3577, extension 130.

So happy that they have done this ...

Wasn't really happy with some things at BMW

Met David and he is "into it" and a really nice guy.
Almost can't wait to need service.

Hey all, I just hit 10,000 this morning. my milage to serive indicator states I still have 2200 miles 'till my next service. The question is, can I go now for service or must I wait? I was planning on going to concord for service so I am so pleased to here that the service dept. is on an upward swing, and that they are open on Saturdays.

Thanks

winechic, you have PM!

I also like to organize and attend group drives and events, please take a look at some of the drives I've organized for my Subaru club, I'd like more MINIs to come along, as cars of all makes are welcome!

But if you drive hard, check your oil level. It may need topping up. Especially as the motor breaks in and the rings seat against the cylider walls. Oil consumption drops as the motor brakes in....

I would recommend just to be safe, that you check your oil a couple of times every month, regardless of how you drive.

All you have to do is pull up to our service drive, no appointment necessary, and we'll check your oil level for you. If your oil needs to be topped-off, just pick up a quart of oil in the parts department, and we'll be happy to top it off for you.

As far as making appointments for scheduled maintenance, MINI of North America requires that when the vehicle comes in for service, that the service indicator needs to be at zero miles before they will pay for the service under the maintenance plan.

The reason is that they want to know what the odometer reading is, when the service countdown is at zero, because the service countdown mileage is "condition-based", meaning that it will count down depending on how the vehicle is driven (short vs. long trips, etc.).

If it's been exactly one year or more since you purchased your MINI new, or it's been exactly one year or more since your last scheduled maintenance, and you're still not due for service, we can perform a "low-mileage oil & filter change".

We will replace the oil & filter but we won't reset the service counter, so that when it comes do for it's next service, we'll change the oil & filter again at that time, performing the full scheduled service (oil service, or inspection I or II).

,i take my Mini in and have oil changed every 3000 miles because i just like to do that,of course i pay for it between regular service intervals. I also recommend checking oil several times a month, i drive mine pretty hard with many different Mini clubs in Calif.
