Convertible Rear Windows

Forgive me if this has been mentioned before...I did a search and nothing came up.

I just noticed something, and even though it's stupid, it bothers me.

On every picture I've seen of a MINI Convertible, the rear windows stick up about 3/4" above the beltline of the car, even when the roof is down. Has anyone else noticed this? Any ideas why? I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I've never seen this on any convertible before, and it looks a bit weird.

Thanks in advance

Kyle,

I haven't noticed this, what is the "beltline"? I'll go in the garage and take a look.

Sara

Edit: Okay I see what you are saying, the rear windows don't go all the way down. Really this bothers you? I think you just need your MINI and then everything will be okay I am sure it is a matter of space just like in some sedans the rear windows don't go all the way down. Contrary to what some people believe that is not a child safety feature it is an issue that the entire back window does not have room to go all the way down!

Kyle,

I have noticed it too being a little **** with my MINI. At first I thought something was wrong with the windows. I have no idea why they don't go all the way down But I don't worry about it Is that MINI ordered yet?

Nope. SOON, I promise. Believe it or not, I'm still not fully sure on the color. Maybe I'm not a secure enough guy, but I'm still concerned that the cool blue may be a bit too girly looking. Being an 18 year old guy, having a girly car is not high on my list. I do really like it though.

Also, I don't know if I mentioned this already, but I recently had a minor run in with the side of my garage. I was pulling in one night (late, I was tired) and I took the turn way to sharp and ripped my mirror off, and damaged the front passenger door panel. My house is brick so it did a number on the panel.

So, I need to get that fixed before I can order my MINI. I'm leaving for the Caribbean on Wednesday (should be fun), so I have to wait until I get back (March 5th) to schedule the repair. Once that's done, I'm good to go. Hopefully I won't have any more excuses and the car will be ordered sometime in March. That means I'll take delivery in May, if all goes as planned, which is perfect timing...the start of convertible season in New England.

Dont' worry about the cool blue..., I've got the liquid yellow which is even more girly... which just means it atracts more girls... and I am 40. At this point even my wife knows it and she doesn't mind. She knows my ugly mug has nothing to do with it and as long as she gets to drive the car 4 days a week... Apparently she is getting noticed by girls also....

I've had my MCC for over a week now and there are some "quirks" that are pure MINI. I love them, but some of them take a little while to get used to. I noticed the window "thing" during my test drive. There are others that are different and some just don't make sense . . . but I wouldn't have it any other way!!You'll love your MINI regardless. Order it already!!!

Sorry to hear about your run in with the bricks, funny I did the same thing in my old car almost 2 years ago. Bummer.

I don't think Liquid Yellow is a girly color! I do support the cool blue with black top, black stripes, etc. But since you mentioned it is your other colors you are considering orange again or something else? I'd hate for you to get any of the colors available on the non-cabrio!

Easy way to fix that is with black stripes and and black aero grill.

I agree I don't think the liquid yellow looks girly. I have the cool blue with black stripes and a blue top and I don't feel it looks girly. If someone thinks it does then that is there opinion. And as far as opinions go we all have one . I am confident enough in my manhood

Thanks to everyone who replied.

Sara, I don't really have any particular colors that I'm thinking of choosing over the cool blue. I do like the red though, as well as the orange. Believe it or not, I even really like the yellow. I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna stick with cool blue though. I think the black stripes will fix the girly-ness.

Wow, it's been almost two weeks now and I am still set on getting cool blue with a black top and black bonnet stripes. I don't think I've gone this long without changing my mind before. Looks like that's the final answer. I'm happy with my decision.
