Paint/Install complete Aerokit....fair price?

I just got an estimate on painting and installing a complete factory aerokit plus painting all factory wheel moldings to match the body color for the total price of $875. Has anyone gotten this done to their MCS? Think the price is reasonable? Thanks

I'm assuming the $875 figure is just to paint your wheel arches. Most dealers charge between $2100 and $3,000 for the aero kit painted and installed. If your dealer is charging $857 for the aero kit painted/installed and for the wheel arches I'll be making a trip to where ever he is located.

I'm assuming that's not a dealer price--and good for you for shopping around. Most dealers don't have their own paint/body shops anyway and are charging you an exorbitant amount for the pleasure of driving your car over to a body shop.

If your using a reputable paint shop and they are REMOVING the wheel arches (moldings) prior to painting them, are using a paint booth (to prevent dirt in your paint) and are curing your paint, clearcoating, etc. then that's a pretty good price. You can save yourself some money by installing the aero kit yourself. If you can use a screwdriver, you can do it.

Please post your pics when it's done...I love painted wheel arches.

paint/install

Actually, it is from a local bodyshop that I used on the past with my previous cars. The charge of $875 does include a complete paint and install on the factory aerokit as well as paint and install on all brand new plastic arches that I purchased (to ensure perfect fit and condition). Thanks for the feedback and I guess I got a great bargain here. Can't wait to see the final product.

I'm not sure if it's a bargain , but it's fair. I'll buy your old wheel arches if you want to sell them. PM me.

In 2002 I paid $1200 for mine. If dealers are now charging $2100 to $3000, you'd better jump on that $850 right now.

Is this an aftermarket Aero and private installer?

If it's a MINI dealer doing this job you might want to give them a plug because that's an awesome price.

paint/install

This is a factory kit i bought from classicauto for 1K even... and install will be done by a local bodyshop here in NY.

Sure, i might be interested to sell the factory arches and even the bumpers and side skirts...

That's a good price. I would have guessed that just handing them the pieces to have painted would have cost around $600. Then add installation and you've got a pretty good deal. My last kit that I had installed/painted was $1200 but that was a biatch to install where-as the MINI aero kit is pretty easy.
