Just Ordered MCS! Opinions and a Small Question...

Hi Everyone! I ordered my MCS on Dec 27th at Rasmussen Mini in Portland and I'm anxiously awaiting a production number(I'm #102 in the Queue = ). In the interim, I've been going over my specs on a daily basis... you know, do I really want this, is there anything else I want/afford?

Anyhow, I'd really like to know what your opinions are on my configuration!
It is as such:

Chili Red / White Roof / Bonnet Stripes
White S-Lites
Sport Package
Premium Package
Cold Package
Convenience Package
LSD
Space Grey Cloth Seats
Body Color Interior
Chrome Line Interior
H/K Stereo + iPod Adaptor

I've attached a photo of the exterior. I have been looking at the 17" Webspoke Rims, and they look nice... torn between them and the White S-Lites. Any thoughts? And I thought I saw before that the windows will be tinted, but looking back I can't seem to find that on miniusa.com Do the windows come tinted??

And has anyone seen the interior body colored dash? How does it look? I'm ordering in the dark as I've never seen it in person. HA! Thanks everyone!

I like the body colored dash. Gives the interior a nice retro look.

My MINI has the CR dash and it looks fantastic. I also got the Tartan Red seats which look really good with the red dash. Unless you have a fear of color (which I obviously do not ) I don't think that you would regret the body colored dash

hey..
the windows are slightly tinted - not a big deal..
sunroof has a slight tint, too.. the sunroofs also have a screen that you call pull forward, so you can sit in the sun and not get fried..
i got the anthracite which is the darkest dash possible - mostly because i've got the black and blue seats, so i didn't want it to be too blue

Thanks for the Photo Neal... Much appreciated! And Manda, thanks for the vote of confidence, I was really torn about the Tartan Red, one of those things I'm considering...

How closely does the red cloth match the Chili Red?

How odd. Just curious, if you live in Nevada, why did you order from Rasmussen? I live about 5 miles from them, and I ordered from Classic MINI in Ohio, and they placed the order just after the New Year, and my BRG MCS will be unloaded in Charleston, SC Thursday. No waiting in a queue.

Thanks Shorty! Blue was my second choice (I still think about going that direction instead of red ) So the Sunroof and the windows have roughly the same amount of tint? Perfect!!!

Everyone is strangely silent about my white rims?

The sunroof is much darker. I would say the window are virtually untinted, but there is probably some slight shade there.

The white rims look great. May I ask you in a year how you like constantly cleaning them?

Well, the purpose is kinda two-fold...

1. The dealership in Sacramento likes to charge a nice juicy mark-up

and 2. It gives me more time to save up moolah for it!

Hoping to have just over half of it saved up by the time I take delivery...
(Just HATE car payments)

Oh and Josh @ Rasmussen was and is an AWESOME MA! I;ve talked to a few, deciding where to purchase from and he was far and away the most helpful and honest.

While they are not the exact same color, they are complimentary. My Bruno is waiting at the dealer for the JCW package and my hubby didn't take any interior pics when we went to visit Bruno so here is a link to a pic I found at MINI2. Tell me that's not hot!

The folks at Rasmussen are all great. I just didn't have the patience to wait.

Good luck.

yeah... sorry.. wasn't paying attention to my wording.. the sunroof is 2 ?? shades darker at least..
i've got to agree with Nuvolari - i've got the silver rims and they stay pretty clean even with all the road grime on my hour commute to work..

WOW! Okay... that does look really sweet! How long does it take for the JCW to be installed? The wait must be harsh!

...um... maybe?

Really get that dirty that quick? Thats why I had considered the 17 Webspokes...

NealW, how are the Space Grey Seats? I've also never experienced them in person, but feel like I would like them more than the leatherette.

Yeah, it's driving me crazy! I'm supposed to get it on thursday but my MA told me today that that may not happen due to some shortages with their master technicians and other cars that were on the schedule before mine. If I have to wait too long I'll go pick it up and take it back to them later

The space grey seats look good. The dealer had tartan red seats in a MCSC with the red dash and bezel - also a very nice look. I've lived in a couple of warm places (Louisiana and Texas) and have felt that fabric is more comfortable in the heat. Cloth is comfortable in the cold with the heated seats. The cloth looks like it will be durable, but only time will tell.

Hey...I like your configuration, but would suggest not getting the S-lites!!! I got them on my 04 and 05, and just sold them because they are way, way tooooo heavy!! My wife has an 05 as well, and she got the X-lite 16" rims, and the difference was night and day between mine with the heavy S-lites and hers with the much lighter X-lites!!! Her car was way faster feeling, and braking was much better, not to mention the car just felt way more nimble and MINI-like. Please reconsider that option, from experience, I can say you won't regret it! Plus....if you decide to sell your X-lites because you want 17" rims, the resale value of the rims is almost exactly the same, maybe even better for the 16" X-lites!! There are lot's of cool, way lighter 17" aftermarket rims out there!! Also, get the ANTHRACITE headliner, it is AMAZING!! A must have option, really toughens up the interior, or should I say makes the interior have more of a race car type feeling!! Other than that, don't let your car get too heavy with all of those packages!! Keep the car as light as possible, you won't regret that either. But no matter what you get, that Chili Red is so sweet, and you will love your car because it is a MINI!!! Peace, and Enjoy!!!

Congrats on joining the cult! LOL! Do NOT hesitate to order the body-color dash in Chili Red. It is fantastic! I attended a c3 (Cooper Club for Charities) detailing event on Saturday, and there was a CR/W MCS, as well as a CR/B MCSC, both with the red dash. OMG! They were stunning!

My Wanda is all Jet Black, and I got the anthracite dash. I LOVE it...wouldn't want a black dash. But if I got a "color" dash, i.e., yellow, red, blue...I would love the body-colored dash.

I added after-market window-tinting to mine from b-pillars to the rear. It looks nice. But the tinting that comes standard is pretty nice.

You may want to consider the tartan red seats....AWESOME in the CR MINI!

As for tires/wheels.....I ordered everything in the sports package ala carte and got the 16-inch v-spokes. I like the way they look and they are light. Helps launching your baby! The white rims mean major detailing...on a more-than-once-a-week basis! If you can handle that, then go for it. They are really sweet on the CR/W MINIs!

If you're thinking bout changing the wheels...

Get the cheepest you can on the car. I have the silver S-Lites. They are very heavy, and anyone that thinks they don't show the brake dust just hasn't cleaned them! The stock mini pads will throw off lots of black dust, and the EBC greenstuffs do as well, but not as much, and I can see three days of build up easy.

You can get real nice rims aftermarket for very good $. But it gets pricey when you add the tires.....

Thanks Gavin for the info, the rims make THAT much of a diff? YOW!! I may reconsider, but I love the look of the s-lites... I'm up in the air about the Anthracite Headliner, I don't want the interior to be too dark and gloomy... was worried that the black up top may be too much

Ahh another thing to ponder....
