Navigation & Audio "Alert" warning on OEM radio 2004 MCS
Navigation & AudioBring your GPS and favorite CD or MP3. This is where navigation and audio options for the Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs are discussed.
2004 MCS:
I keep on getting "ALERT!" display on my stock CD Receiver for past 3 days. The volume would also go up and down on its own and switches from CD to radio by itself.
I have Alpine KTP 445 amp and MTX RT8PT powered subwoofer since June 2013.
Did anyone experience this and how did you fix it? TIA

I scanned my car for Health Check using my Thinkdiag TKD01 and cleared few codes but not the P0420 (this has been on and off for many years but no effect on performance or fuel economy) and now I also got P2096.
To my surprise, the "Alert" warning in my CD-Receiver is gone and RDS is back (name & artist of the song on display). The musical volume is also now stable from switching high & low by its own.
Now, I have to figure out what's causing the P2096 & P0420 codes.
@ECS Tuning . Thank you for being always helpful to our NAM forum over many years.
I will give that a try.
The P0420 has been there for many years as I have the Mynes 4:1 sports headers with 200 cell cat. I also have the O2 spacer but still a hit and miss over the years.
Maybe it's time to change my OEM downstream O2 sensor and hope it will fix this P2096. My 2004 MCS was bought new and has only 70K kms to date.
