FYI wiring near exhaust protection

Hi, Was inspecting my non turbo and saw that the loom for wiring bundle near the exhaust heat shield (it goes to O2 sensor and other things) has disintegrated leaving the wires exposed to heat from the exhaust.
I have some plastic split loom but is it a good idea to also add some heat shield material?

I know the fiberglass material is popular but I don't think it comes split so I was considering this split metallic product.
