R56 N14 TURBOSMART VR10 with 28B1 code
after installing the turbosmart VR10 bov, I am getting 28B1 code and only has very little boost.
my car is tuned stage 2 and was getting 19psi but now im having trouble getting even 1/3 of that.
by swapping back to OEM DV, the 28B1 is not there anymore, and im getting my full boost back.
any help is greatly appreciated!

The TurboSmart valve is either leaking or not fitting correctly in the turbo housing. Those have been know to not fit correctly in some housings.
There is no shame running an OEM diverter valve, as long as its the latest revision. If you want noises, you could install a blow off plate.

Yeah, I am having an issue with mine as well. I'm not getting any codes and it produces boost fine. But it will, leak (surge, bleed), while trying to maintain boost. For instance, if I get on it and want to maintain a speed or rpm, if my gauge says I am at 15psi, you can hear it release air in multiple spurts very fast over about 5 seconds. Then I go to increase and it won't build past a certain point of boost. My Forge never did that. I am going to put the Forge back on, just haven't gotten around to it. So yeah, I think turbosmart just has an issue with their units
