Shifting difficult having to press the clutch pedal to the floor

New clutch single light weight flywheel throw out Bering. The car will shutter a bit in reverse. In the morning when cold it seems ok but as I drive down shifting or getting back into first is difficult. I have a few parts cars and can just swap transmissions if I need to. My first thought is bleed the master slave. Maybe something is wrong with the pedal. After reading a few posts there are some guides on the shifter weights that could be replaced. I just don’t see how that would cause me to have to push the pedal all the way to the floor like I need to stand on it to shift.

Driving stick for a bit over 65 years, yea, pedal clear to the floor. Helps equipment last longer.

i'm not telling you that you don't have other issues, but a new clutch is going to engage closer to the floor than a worn out clutch.

Bleeding the master slave is always an issue when replacing the clutch. The best method is to use a pressure bleed system like a Motive. If you have a compressor, Harbor Freight sells an inexpensive system that also works really well. You could have an issue with the clutch master which is located on the clutch pedal arm. After replacing my clutch, I replaced my brake master cylinder, clutch slave and the clutch master before operation become normal. Good luck.

I'm no expert with Mini's but my initial guess would be either: 1)_ A worn or incorrectly torqued pressure plate?
2)_ Air or moisture in the hydraulic system = pressure bleed the slave and/or bleed out old hydraulic fluid?

When I had my trans & (dual mass) clutch replaced by a top notch Mini mechanic; Afterwards, I had at least 2"+ of smooth clutch pedal travel between engagement and disengagement.
Before that I only had a 1/2" clutch pedal travel from the floor.
