Hi all,
recently bought a 2002 R50 automatic for my son's first car and its a beauty however I've started having two issues and I'm getting no help from my local mini dealer or garage.
firstly I occasionally get 'ep' on the dash. Car external temp is showing as 50 degrees C. Car went into limp on motorway. Mini diagnostic says Kombi unit fault.
Second issue which my autoelectrician can't get to the bottom of is when I turn off the ignition the dash sometimes stays lit even with key removed. Battery then has run down to zero. I'm being told to scrap it but my son loves it and mechanically it's is top notch. Please help.

 

start by pulling codes. you will need inpa or other capable code reader.

once you have codes you should have directions you can go
