Hello, this is my first post. I believe I need a new transmission, will find out for sure this weekend. I have the 6 speed auto GA621AW in my 2015 Cooper S, got me thinking if a 8 speed GA8F45AW could be swapped into it. has anyone heard of or has done this swap?

 

Can it be done? Probably. Is it likely cost prohibitive? Also, probably. I imagine it would physically bolt up without issue, but the gear selector is different and I imagine there’s need to be some coding done since the transmissions are different and are computer controlled.
