New Evo head unit - old iPhone won't delete!
I just installed an EVO (Entrynav2) head unit to replace the NBT that my 2017 F54 JCW came with. The seller was great, they run a business specializing in these, had a remote coding session to finalize everything after I installed it in my car.
One primary reason for the upgrade was that I didn't like the MMI for Android Auto on my NBT unit, and thought Android Auto would be easier with a touchscreen. There's an Android Auto device that connects wirelessly that I purchased. It's slick in that it hijacks the wireless CarPlay connection, and presents Android Auto in its place.
Part of the instructions for adding this CarPlay/Android device are to clear all pre-existing devices.
Unfortunately, I was able to delete three of four old phones that were in this when I got it, but "Eugene's iPhone" just won't delete.
What can I do to remove this phone from my head unit?
Note I can't do the "Delete all personal data" from the unit because I am told that will delete the coding that makes that unit from another car, work in MY car.

I wasn't having luck searching around here for "delete phone", so I tried the old Copilot AI, asking it to search threads here and MINIF56 forums, and it said to try to reset the head unit by holding down the power button.
Oddly, all that volume **** button seems to do is mute and unmute. I held that thing for a whole minute and it didn't power cycle. Definitely frustrating.
Really want to get this "Eugene's iPhone" off my system so I can get that Android/CarPlay devices working.

So the issue there is that this head unit came from another vehicle, and the seller I bought it from coded it to my car.
The "Eugene's iPhone" was there (and couldn't be deleted) before I had the follow up session with him - he remoted into my car with my laptop, an ODBC cable, and Team Viewer., and completed the coding for the head unit.
If I do that, I'm sure that will remove the iPhone - the problem is, it will also remove the other custom coding that makes it work with my car.

I'm only saying that because Copilot warned me of it - I hope it's the case, I'm be pinging my head unit guy to confirm.
I hope you are right for sure.

I'm glad you suggested this -
The guy I got the HU from (who did the remote coding with me) also confirmed doing a factory reset won't undo his coding.
So... I'm going to try that tonight.

Great news-
That worked. But oddly, it didn't actually delete my personal data.
I followed the steps, which the car prompted me after to leave the car, lock the doors, and wait 15 minutes - I actually waited about 30 as I went back in to eat dinner with the wife.
When I went back out, I powered back up and the car asked me if I wanted "Steve" or "Jennifer" to be associated with the key profile. (changed the names to protect the innocent, but it asked my name and my wife's)
All my radio presets were wiped though.
And when I went to "Manage mobile devices", this time I was able to delete the Eugene's IPhone! Mission accomplished.
But odd that it didn't REALLY delete my data. Maybe a second time through the process would have done that.
