The car was using/losing a lot of oil. The car was parked in the same garage spot for years and the floor is clean. After reviewing lots of comments on this forum I decided to check out the pcv built into the valve cover...found that the cap that covers the pcv had damage..(no seal). Also the diaphragm was split and stuck flat to the underside of the housing...useless. Replaced the complete valve cover with the pcv valve.
The car runs better and is no longer losing oil. The car has 102k miles. Money well-spent. (the repair done 3 weeks ago...I waited to comment)
