R50/53 Insane inflation on some dealer parts
Insane inflation on some dealer parts
I've been working on R50's and R53's for about 5 years now and some prices have become so high it's not fun anymore. I live about 2km from a dealer so I am a regular visitor to pick up small stuff like orings, bolts and stuff
For example the rear lower windscreen trim (51317113198), the one that becomes hard and doesn't seal anymore causing it to leak water into the boot, went from $12 in 2022 to now $93?!
Also the orings for the big endcaps that you losen to access the timing chain guide bolts are now NLA and you can only buy them including the endcaps itself. Resulting in $45 each...
My guess is that parts are becoming scarce and the price goes up at a certain amount left.
This basically forces us to result to bad solutions like using silicone kit to seal said rear lower windscreen trim.
I'm wondering how much longer we will be able to maintain our beloved 1ste gen Mini's?

I see the price went way up in end of 2023 on that part https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Sit...h/51317113198/
My guess is an older part and smaller runs? Yep some of the older stuff has increased after 2021-2022+
Now the R50-R53 is in the classic section of realoem. Updated now till 2025! https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sel...e=1&series=R53
This part was always high and its the clip for the pen holder in the Gen 1 MINI glovebox.
