This actually a jcw turbo ??

I'm trying to verify that my car DOES have the jcw turbo. Idk ? I swear my last r58 felt peppier and it was an n14.
I just wanna make sure that this for sure is a jcw turbo then too because I'm going f21 Franken turbo so I'd like to sell my jcw turbo and i dont wanna sell it as something it's not..
BTW, would you be interested then too in this turbo if it's a jcw turbo forsure ? I will be getting my aftermarket turbo in a week so.
i also dont have a boost gauge so i cant check boost Levels.

That yellow tag has the part number identifier on the bottom line, but it is obscured in your picture by the water line. The last four digits will tell you if it’s a JCW or not. It should be 0146 or 0298.

The N14 JCW doesn’t have the variable lift intake cam, so it feels different compared to the N18. Your old car had cams and a different turbo, too, right?

it was a full bolt on yes but oem cams but i just feel like the n14 stock felt more powerful.. maybe the n18 is a more linear powerband and it's just me being me. OR that intercooler is really robbing that much power. I'm tempted to toss my stock ic on and test. But I'm not too concerned because I already got the upgraded turbo , occasionally piping , downpipe, new oem ignition and few other things coming so the upgraded intercooler will be useful soon.
I will go check those part #s in a little bit.
I appreciate the info man , thank you

Yeah, I believe the N18 is a smoother engine, and the N14 is more "peaky"

Yuuuuuup. Exactly how i feel..
the turbo is an 0298 so thxfully it is a jcw turbo then.. lol I already ordered the big turbo , dp , upgraded ic piping , jb+ , gauges and few other things... soon I will probably have Adriancl tune it because he's been my goto for every mini I've had and the man is magic..not saying Lou isn't good , I just prefer my guy..
I just did new plugs n going to go get oil n filter now...
Timing will be getting done very soon too and it already had the clutch n flywheel replaced.. so it should be ready to rip real soon !
