Full screen CarPlay in LCI1 car with the big display

My 2019 has the large display and full MINI Connected/navigation. It also has CarPlay from the factory, but CarPlay only takes up a small portion of the screen. I believe later model year cars for an update to have CarPlay take up the whole screen. Can you update earlier cars to have the full screen CarPlay? I retrofitted the digital instrument cluster to my car a few years ago, if that has any effect.

I had my 2019 updated for full screen from these guys:
https://easybimmercoding.com/product...lay-activation

Send them an email with your software version, and they can direct you to what you’ll need for full screen.

EDIT: it’s the MINI implementation that doesn’t cutoff the sides!

I meant to ask, is it the MINI implementation of the full screen CarPlay (i.e., fits the viewable area of the screen) or is it full screen that uses the full physical screen? I ask because the MINI display has rounded left and right sides and the BMW screens do not. I remember seeing folks retrofitting full screen a CarPlay to older FX MINIs and the edges of the displayed content are cutoff by the rounded fascia of the MINI center display.
