R60 Coilovers that preserve stock ride height?
Coilovers that preserve stock ride height?
I'm looking to purchase a full set of coilovers as a drop-in replacement for my stock ones. My left rear is really in bad shape but I might as well replace them all at the same time. Getting the completed assemblies is much more convenient than replacing just the struts and reusing some hardware but not all of it. The price differential isn't too bad either so I'm willing to pay more for the convenience.
That said, it seems like most if not all of the coilovers I can find seem to advertise lowering the ride height, which I get it for the market they're sold toward (sport/track). However the stock ride height is already somewhat limiting to me professionally as my job takes me to communications towers and radio masts as well as other remote areas with poorly maintained dirt/gravel roads. Clearance can be an issue. I absolutely can not afford to have the ride height any lower than the stock ride height. I also don't really want to lift it much either since when I'm driving for fun I'm doing it on the road. I know the enthusiast ones are adjustable to some extent but only to make them even lower. I can't seem to get a great picture of the ride heights anywhere. I've sent a few emails out to the manufacturers but if anyone has personal experiences/recommendations I'd love to hear them.

Here’s my suggestion….
Since you can’t afford to lower, keep your stock springs, and get a set of Bilstein B6 shocks along with new mounts.

Then, maybe add a bigger rear sway bar.

You will keep stock ride height, the shocks will increase response and handling, and the rear bar will help with rotation and control. The car will feel amazing on the road.
