R57 Engine Failure Will Turn Over But No Start
Engine Failure Will Turn Over But No Start
Need Help.
I have a 2014 Mini Cooper S Convertible. R57 N18 Engine. 78,000 miles.
Have done a lot of maintenance. Valve cover, thermostat housing, spark plugs, filters to include cab, air and recent oil change. The car recently has lower fuel mileage. Power is ok. Not like it was before.
Yesterday I was sitting at an idle. The car seemed like it misfired and engine failure light came on and it quit running. It will not start or attempt to start. Ran codes. 2BC0, 37DE, 2774, 318D, 387F and 2C03.
Fuel temp is 77F. We cracked the fuel line to see if there is any pressure and only a little bit of gas came out.
We are leaning towards fuel pump and or fuel filter. I filled up 2 days ago. So if it was bad fuel I was thinking it would have shown up sooner.
From what I read on the codes, none of them would not cause the car to not run at all, but that is why I am asking for help. I am not sure.
Also I read there is a high pressure and a low pressure pump? Are they both located in the fuel tank?
Need help!!
Thank you!

The ones that would concern me are 2C03, 318D, and 2BC0. Those all indicate a fuel system issue, likely the low pressure in-tank pump. The other codes indicate to me an intake system leak. If you recently changed out the air filter, its possible the turbo inlet pipe cracked? I would check it over REAL good and see the turbo inlet connection cracked. It can crack right at the turbo inlet, and hide itself pretty good, until it gets sucked into the turbo and wrecks your day.
The high pressure fuel pump is on the cylinder head, and is driven from the intake cam. The low pressure fuel pump is in the fuel tank on the drivers side. (in the US) The fuel filter in located on the passenger side. (again, in the US)

Thank you so much for your input! With replacing the thermostat, housing and the heater cover hoses that area has been worked over pretty well. I will definitely look at that turbo inlet tube. I sure hope nothing has happened.
