Axle output shaft seal on transmission

So I've ran into something here that I can't seem to find an answer for. I've purchased new output shaft seals on my 06 JCW from Rock auto, but they are nothing like what's on the car. Only one transmission is available to select with all parts searches, and all seals have same dimensions. However, when removing the existing seal, it's completely different type. It has this metal sleeve that wraps over the edge of the seal housing, total PITA to remove, and it's a two piece deal. The replacement looks like a normal seal on one side, and this metal kind on the other. See pic. It does kind of fit the housing, but it's metal on metal vs the original rubber lined one. I'm stumped, and nobody online has seem to ran into this. Anybody ever done it before?

Within the past month I replaced both of my output shaft seals with parts from FCP Euro. That new seal in your picture looks totally wrong - like maybe the input shaft seal instead.

The job was so straightforward and uneventful that I did not bother to take any pictures, but I distinctly remember the little metal "lip" on the outside of the output shaft seals and the fact that each seal was side specific because of different axle diameters side to side.

BTW, to remove the seals from the transmission, I used a chisel to get underneath that lip and pop the seals out. Mine both came out in 1 piece and very easily.

Any chance you could post the part numbers you purchased?

I will be doing this job soon too.

Sorry for the delayed response. I've been really busy lately. I hope I'm not too late.

From my FCP Euro account, the part numbers are CTO-19037089B and CTO-19037088B

I don't know. Those numbers were what was on my account history and those seals fit on my car perfectly. I bought them 2-3 years ago, so maybe something changed since then.
