R56 Crank But Occasion No Start
Crank But Occasion No Start
2007 R56 N12 155k km
Occasionally when I cold start the car after it's sat overnight or longer it cranks and cranks but does not start first try. Will usually fire properly after 3-5 tries of cranking for 5-10 seconds. Battery is strong and starter is cranking properly. Runs great once started, idles smooth and throttle is responsive. Only happens infrequently on cold starts and get worse the colder it is outside. 9/10 times it starts great. No codes. No lights.
Maybe fuel delivery issue?? I'm not really sure.
Look for suggestions as winter is coming!!

This only happens when the engine is cold?
If you have a scan tool. connect it to the car before your first start of the day. Compare the ambient air temp with the inlet temp sensor. They should read the same temperature.
Also, check your fuel pressure even though the ambient air temp should not effect fuel pressure.
