New to NAM site and wanted to pick the experts brain in regards to tunes and what stage I shoould go. I have a generalized idea but I wanted to get a second opinion as to what stage I should go with. Mini cooper is a r56 N14 S and the following is a list of modifications:
- F21 - F21M Hybrid Turbo (Frankenturbo)
- Upgraded intercooler
- catless downpipe
- NVIDIA full 3" exhaust
- Misihimoto 23 Fin oil cooler with thermostat
- M7 cold air intake
- ECS Tuning Diverter Valve
- ECS Tuning Performance coils w/ NGK plugs
Added maintenance:
walnut blasted and leak down test conducted
current mileage 112,000

My plan for this MINI was to simply have a reliable daily but I feel like I would want a little more output from the current mods. I come from a N54 BMW platform so, from what ive read the n14 is just as bas that..lol! but, I just wanted to see what you guys thought in regards to tunes and what route I should go.

since you have the bigger turbo you would want to go with a stage 3. https://prototype-r.com/product/stage-x - contact Lou and he can custom tune your setup. AdrianCL has been working with MiniManAdam on his, so that also might be an option for you as well.

 

^This. Get in contact with @Lou@Prototype-R and explain your goals. He will get you in the right direction. He is a wizard with these cars. He has a 400hp+ N14 JCW coupe.

Ditto on Lou - I am more and more amazed on how knowledgeable he is. He has tuned almost all versions of Minis, thru all stages. By tuning - I mean both in the weeds ( coding ), data logging and finalizing. No one in the middle ...

 

So who did you end up going with and what are your impressions?
