main issue with the scoop is that you need to get a custom pipe from the scoop to the intake box. The ones on the market like eventuri cost a crazy amount.
I just purchased these. They just arrived, haven't installed them yet - for that matter it's still winter so I'm not going to tackle it until the weather warms up and the snow melts.
I do think they will look cool, but there's a pinch point where they pass by a support in front of the radiator. I appreciate that they will pull air from several inches in front of the hot radiator, which will be a benefit in cooler air, but I do wonder about how much this transitions down:
Trying to hold it up to the ceiling LED in my shop so you can see inside:
I tried stuffing a white paper towel inside thinking that might help see it:
The little bump inside each is for a brass threaded insert.
My concern is more the pinch point caused by the support pipe channels.
I wonder if I can open that up at all. If it passes that closely around the support then maybe the plastic adjacent to it can be trimmed away. Maybe that support can be removed and that side flattened out - maybe sectioned and flat bar stock welded in, so that plastic pinch point could be opened up. If that support is removable that is. I do have both a MIG welder and a plastic welder. But on the other hand - that's a lot of work that might not even need to be done. It does seem to funnel pretty narrow though.
I can't wait until the warm weather to see how the factory openings are, see if this really does present a reduction in intake area, see if there's a way to open it up more.
But if nothing else, these horns seem to push the air intake location far enough from the radiator to pull cooler air.

Have you ever tried closing up the hole on the left side of the Dinan intake?
I see so many intakes with that opening that it makes me think "they must have done that through dyno testing", but that would seem to mostly eliminate the need for, if not contribution from, the whole "cold air" portion of the intake.
It's the same reason I'm torn on adding one. I've heard that adding one doesn't do anything real for HP, but then - why the hole? Just noise?
And if not, maybe keeping the factory intake intact with a good panel filter and this snorkel might help?
Who knows, but at least it'll look cool. I'll try it this way first, with the stock airbox intact. Just a little "ram air" helper.
