Have an issue with my unmodified 2014 r60 s all4. Went to put the drivers window down and none of the controls were working. All switches on their independent door switches were working. The whole drivers switch module was not working. Logged in with Protool and had multiple errors as usual with brake light and usb etc. Cleared log and diagnosed. Windows worked through Protool but Mirror motors did not. Only alarms that remain is 9cba (communication with lin operator unit disturbed), 9cc3 (communication with driver mirror) and 9cc4 (communication with passenger mirror). Took apart the drivers switch and cable to switch had 3 wires, a 12v, av5v and one with no voltage. Put everything back together and still nothing worked on drivers switch. Later that day, the window and child lock all of a sudden started working. But not mirror motors or folding. Did not work with Protool either. I am looking for a place to get wiring diagrams to further troubleshoot and also find out where and what the lin control unit is. Need to find out how the FRM also interfaces with the mirror motors. Is there another module like the folding mirror module. Can anyone help?
The FRM is a piece of **** in my humble opinion. Poor soldering seems to be the big issue (as well as the sunroof drain that can shift and send water down the back). I have various errors that come and go, including the LIN operator one that you have. Unplugging the module and letting it sit for awhile before reattaching is my go-to fix.
I read that BMW was warranteeing these for 15 years or 300 000kms now, so I took mine into the dealer. They said mine was fine (despite having no headlight control or turn signals) and it was the clockspring. I replaced the clockspring and nothing changed. I did the unplug trick and it's been working ever since.
So it may be the FRM itself that's faulty. I have no info to help on the LIN however.
