Looking for some advice. Have a 2014 R60 Countryman All4. Had a blow head gasket which I fixed and got car running, Unfortunately the freeze plug on top of the head had popped off during the initial run (probably due to SLIGHT warpage in head) causing coolant to leak into oil. Tapped a new 18mm plug into that freeze plug hole so it wouldn't pop out again. Compression still good on all 4 cylinders..
However, now I have a different problem. Probably electrical in nature since at some point the ground wire to the engine (you know, that tiny ground wire that connects to the cylinder head) broke off. I'm thinking it shorted something out. Again, the car ran fine until the plug/coolant issue but I was luck to catch that early on so the coolant going into oil it didn't do any other physical damage to the engine.
Here are the symptoms:
Crank but no start, no spark
Tach not moving when cranking (telling me crank position sensor not sending signal)
Compression is good on all 4
Have a bunch of codes which are probably red herrings. I swapped out another Valvetronic motor and new accelerator pedal and didn't fix issue. See attached screenshot of scan tool error codes that always come back after clearing.
I'm not too good at diagnosing electrical issues. Anyone have any suggestions on where to start? Again, it's probably something with a bad ground, or shorted out wire but not sure where to look?
