Dragon

I too would like some enlightenment. From what I have seen it is actually a road in NC I think. Supposed to be twisty, hilly and fun. I think they also have a rally every year too. Looks like fun!

Hwy 129, known as the Tail of the Dragon is a road that runs between NC and TN. 318 switch back turns in 11.8 miles. MINI heaven so to speak.

A dragon is a mythical beast that had wings and would fly around and burn people and villages with their dragon breath.

HAHA, just kidding. Read all about it here.

There will be a number of people from Indiana going to the big rally May 5-8. You might want to join them.

Speeding on the dragon is not really that fast. Seems like it though.

Well, the posted speed limit USED to be 55, but now it's 30...LOL...!

Everyone be sure to go to the National Events forum here on NAM and read up on the Dragon. It is so much fun that I go there at least TWICE a year, and I live in Los Angeles!

I hope there aren't too many police cars patroling the area if they know everyone is riding the Dragon. They must monitor the area somehow with motorcyclists, MINIs, and other car groups invading the Dragon on a regular basis.

Can't really. No room at the sides of the road.

Check out www.tailofthedragon.com, for police reports etc.

We were there last April and in less than an hour we saw 10 LEOs and 2 eyes in the sky!! It was one of the first weekends since there had been a fatal motorcycle accident. Last May there were hardly any.

Well, since the MINIacs visiting the Dragon bring so much revenue into the area at the beginning of the tourist season, they seem to have taken a very light-handed approach to patrolling. Everywhere in Robbinsville, the closest town, "Welcome MINIs" signs were hanging outside businesses or were spelled out on marquees! They LOVE the MINIs!
