Brake sensor connector shells?

I did the brakes today on my 2012 Clubman S, and when I went to unplug the white part of the sensor from the car to replace the brake pad wear sensor the part that "remains" crumbled in my fingers. the plastic was super brittle and just fell apart. (the back one was perfectly fine)

Is there a way to replace that part? I shoved the remainder into the plug for the new sensor and I suspect it'll work for a while but the part that locks it in place is not there so I'm concerned that it'll pull out.

suggestions?

It's somewhat normal for the sensor to fall apart during removal if it's been on there for a while. Post a pic to ensure we know exactly what you are talking about.

On the end of the sensor where it connects to the car there is a ~1.5 inch tube about a half inch indiameter. on mine they are white. the "female" part of that connector comes with the new sensor, the "male" part of it is part of the car. On mine the male part just crumbled. I could push the remnants into the new part with the new sensor, but the locking mechanism is gone. that's the part that I'm trying to find.

I put the car back together and you have to take the fender liner off to see the thing, but it looks like this:

(see the white tube on the end that connects to the car, not the end that goes into the brakes)

Ah, OK. I thought you were talking about the piece that slides into the brake pad.

The female part that is part of the sensor end is part of the sensor itself and i would get a new sensor. https://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2012-...aking/Sensors/
