MCS hood Scoop?

Does anyone know if a black hood scoop is made that matches the aero grills. I'm not looking for a CF version as it seems costly, as I'm after the apperance not the weight issue. If anyone has one or ordered one can you please provide the details. Has anyone repainted the one that came with the MCS?

Mine came black from the factory

Seriously your best bet is to just paint it. I'd try to find a used one from a yard and hold on to the stock piece in case you want to sell or go back to stock.

I bought one primered, and painted it black. I was never happy with it (lack of experience made the paint look pretty crappy). Someone with a black MCS got a CF scoop and sold me his black scoop which I love the look of. I sold my painted scoop to someone who had it painted white, and it look great in the pictures.
Best bet is to find a black one for sale (good luck) or buy a new one and get it painted, or just paint your original one.

Thanks Agro, it was a great buy.

That would look awesome with some white aero grills and the silver (or white) M7 grill!

Agro,

Do you still havethe part # for the primed scoop and any idea on the cost? Also did you use a Mini paint to paint it?

If I recall correctly, the hood scoops are either $75 or $90 painted.... so I would guess $45-$60.

I ordered from Brian at Classic Auto Campus (a NAM sponsor) and from memory, it was about $50.
No, I didn't use MINI paint, and regretted it. If I was doing it again, I'd buy it painted.

Infin, I ordered a primered scoop from Classic also. It wasn't much - I can't recall the exact price, but $45 - $50 sounds about right. After all, it's only a piece of plastic.

I took it to a body shop here in Atlanta and had them paint the scoop and my grill slats. It's totally worth it to have it done professionally - I wouldn't have done as good of a job. It's been almost a year and I'm very happy with it.

Good luck!
