Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S(R56), and Cabrio (R57).
I require assistance with my Mini, this morning as I was replacing one of my coils that greeted me, I realized what looked like oil on my valve cover. I noticed that my vehicle was consuming oil and initially thought that it was normal but over the last month I had to add a litre of oil and it is low once again. I do not see any other oil leaks or signs of them at the bottom of the engine. Is it possible that oil is leaking from the oil filler cap, and if it is the case can anyone perhaps please help indicate why this is and how I can fix it?
Thanks in advance Image of oil cap with what appears to be oil
My N18 was going through oil faster than I thought it should. I didn't have a leak on the cap or any other visible sign. I replaced the PCV valve on the valve cover and since barely use a quart in 5000 miles. Easy to do and inexpensive. Plenty of videos on how to do it. Worth a try.
