Problems during oil change!

Hello guys,
As a beginner to MINI F60, I need your help.

During an engine oil change, I discovered that some parts had oil on them.
I wonder what this part is and how to solve it.

Thank you for reading.

The filter holder is right above this area, and oil splashed or dripped onto those parts. Clean it up thoroughly, and perhaps that's all you need to do. After I change the oil filter, I always go back a couple of times (over a couple of days) and make sure no oil is leaking from the filter housing or filter drain (the center portion of the 32 mm nut). A little oil goes a long way to looking like a problem...hopefully yours was just a splashing during the filter change.

What Mini-Titan said. I'll add I use brake clean in an aerosol can. This cuts oil and rinses it away and dries with no residue. I lay some newspaper down to catch the brake cleaner as is drips from whatever I'm spraying it on.

Be sure to remove any oil you can see not just at the parts/areas you have circled.

After you remove all the oil then you can check for the appearance of any fresh oil after some engine run time. If any oil shows up that's a leak.

+1 clean it up first, might just be from the oil change.

If not then check the housing, we seen this on pre 2020 MINIs.
