2014 F56 Hardtop Cooper S B48.

I'm looking to buy a JCW tuning kit with exhaust, the dealer is telling me per my B48 vin that I need this kit: 11122359630 but there are none available and only the B46 version: 11122359631 is available. Mini USA says the B46 version should fit a generic 2014 cooper s hardtop without running my vin (maybe it's backwards compatible?). My dealership is hesitant to order the B46 tuning kit in lieu the exhaust doesn't fit and/or the tune software doesn't take due to engine differences

The dealer pulled up the kits individually and the "front pipe" has different part numbers but no pics

ECS tuning has one kit that says it fits B46 and B48 but i'm hesitant to order and not have it fit and be stuck with it myself.

From my research the flanges might be different due to the different cats for emissions on b48 vs b46? I was hoping the b46 might be back-compatible with the b48? ANY help would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

Update:

I'm finding that some BMW's with B48's have a slip on connector for the exhaust vs a v-band connector in the B46's. My stock exhaust has a v-band connector so not sure if that helps or hurts this situation.

 

Slip on is the Euro cars and rest of world version (except US). V band is all US cars.

I think MINI made two and the one works with the other, so its like a duplicate part by default.

Thanks for the info and the previous threads. Do you know if there's any software issues with the -631 tune on the B48?

 

Update:
Talked with a tech at another dealer who said they've done some of these installs and the parts are similar to fit to the B48 engine but the software is different and the B46 software won't flash on the B48 engine and they have just installed the exhausts and have the tunes left over.

 

Ok, so they cant select the program with the Vin, weird. Another dealership guy told me B46 or B48 will work with 11122359631. So they must not be flashing for the actual tune.
