F55/F56 Tire Size for 18x8.5s
Tire Size for 18x8.5s
Not sure if there are other answers for sure so feel free to forward me to another thread but have yet to see any for sure answers. (2016 Mini Cooper S F55) I have a set of 18x8.5 +43 offset wheels looking to get spacers anywhere from 5mm-12mm just for fitment and clearing the strut. I think a little poke wouldn’t look bad/maybe good as well. But for tires could I run 235/40r18 without rubbing on stock ride height maybe even 245/35r18. Have seen a couple similar minis but nothing for sure. Could remove my fender liner/maybe do a little trimming to make it work. Would love to hear thoughts or just other builds/fitment or pics.
I run 17x8 +45 with 225/45-17 on a F56.
I had very minor interference on the rear only at 10 and 2 o'clock . The outer surface of the sidewall eroded the inner facing liner quickly, and that was that.
My point is that staying away from the struts is not the only challenge, unless raising the ride height is contemplated.
There's a gent running 245 tires in Texas I think, in the Street Mod class, but I suspect some trimming (of metal) may have been involved.
Others may know better!
Cheers,
Charlie

If you were to imagine a clock face around the left rear tire, then 10 o'clock is top left (ish), and 2 o'clock is top right (ish).
And yes, that is what I mean.
The point being that one can clear the struts and the brakes, and still need a sawzall.
Reckon you knew that. There's not very much room in the wheel wells.

I run 18x8 with a 45mm offset and have 245/40/18 tires. I run a 15mm spacer on the front and a 3mm spacer on the rear. Everything clears and no rubbing. The fronts do stick out past the fenders just a small amount, but I do autocross the car.
