Winter Tires and All4 FTW

The value of winter tires and leaving an adequate distance between cars. Snow squall around noon near Syracuse NY on the 2nd of 2 legs on the way back from SC today. The attached video clip is a 720p download from our new Ring Car Cam

I actually saw your car on I-77 a few miles below the SC/NC State line! I distinctly remember wondering if someone with a Canadian tag was referring to Hilton Head with their personalized tag. Amazing....

Wow! That is an amazing coincidence. We make it a point to be on the lookout for other MINIs. Were you driving yours?

Yes, I was in a Rebel Green JCW with Red top and Red/checked mirrors, with a bike rack on top. It was about mile marker 84, you were in the center lane. Coincidence, indeed!

Heh-heh, small world.. .I used to live in Davidson on Lake Norman, just No of Charlotte on I-77. I also wondered if the vanity tag referred to Hilton Head. Not too many Canadian plates referencing an island off SC coast!

Davidson is a beautiful area. We stayed nearby in Statesville NC on the trip south.

It is! I was only able to upload a 720p resolution clip because of attachment size restrictions on this site. The cameras on the Ring Car Cam (front and rear facing) record in full 1080p with audio and the video is very high quality. There are other cameras out there with higher resolution but not with the same combination of features (including GPS and LTE) and definitely not at the price. It also ties in nicely with our Ring camera ecosystem.

I've been looking at cameras and I think I've been overloaded with options...so many out there. But I really like the video on yours.
1) I guess you ran wires to the OBD port?
2) Do you pay the yearly subscription?

1) Yes. Super easy to tuck the wire away, too. Very nice and neat and the installation instructions for either the iOS or Android app are very simple.
2) I opted in. Even though it wasn't supposed to be available in Canada on the date of release, it was. It's good for 5 GB data / day.

I believe I was in the right lane, you in the middle lane. It was between exits 83 and 85 in SC, heading north on I-77, if I'm remembering correctly.
