Let's play 'Bring-A-Trailer Bingo:' 2006 R53 JCW Slickroof
JCW GarageInterested in John Cooper Works (JCW) parts for your 1st Generation MINI? This is where JCW upgrades and accessories for the Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs are discussed.
Yeah saw that. Was just having a bit of fun given the rarity - and desirability by many - of the slick roof. Since we can't delete threads on this board, will just let it ride. Good luck to the seller, fine example should bring a great price.
Just went through the auction... Looks like it has all the enthusiast options, with the exception of the Chrono Package. There is an accident on the CarFax, but soooo long ago. Looks like it was taken care of, too. I'm going to go with $15k.
Clean slicktop! I like how the seller has been repairing the damaged parts that readers have found! Hopefully that helps the car sell for a higher price! I think this will go for $13,900!

Is the used car market now past its crazy peak? Things were getting insane the last few years and I think we were in sort of an overvaluation bubble, has the bank collapse finally shocked people back into sensibility?
Although there will always be a bit of bonkers with the classic/cult car market I'd reckon.
I agree that it was a good buy! I certainly think we're post peak in the current cycle. Most R53's live in the price point that could be readily purchased with cash though, so who knows. I think the seller was just unlucky with the people bidding - there wasn't any crazy last minute bidding that something like this had. https://carsandbids.com/auctions/37l...-mini-cooper-s Which has a lot more miles, heavily modified, and the same color. But I guess that's the positive/negative of an auction with no reserve!
