Hi all I just picked up a 2008 Clubman S with only 60k on the OD. Really excited to start making it my own! First on the list is getting the radio swapped out for an Android Auto compatible unit. I saw this one on the interwebs and wanted to get some feedback, is it really plug and play? Will I need to order anything other than Android Auto dongle and rear cam? Any feedback is welcome! https://www.seicane.com/for-bmw-mini...chscreen-h6945
See what camera they are selling. You can find many variants for similar $$$ and most reviews I have seen the ones that come with the radios aren't that good.
In my 2012 Coupe, it was 99% plug n play.

Thanks!! Were you able to use your factory CD changer?
Watch those as most show KPH and not MPH and its in the system. So you cannot change (printed on unit) unless you have digital readout on an app.
Yeah I've seen that, not really an issue for me plus in most of the vids you can put the mph in the tach display. I've seen a few options, some have a CD player but those need a new facia. The one I linked too replaces the CD with the volume control. I'd like to keep the ability to use the CD player if that is an option.
Are their any differences in the R56 fitments and R55?

I didn't have a CD changer. I haven't used it but it came with a CD player. Having Sirius satellite radio, I really do not have a use for them. It is plugged into the Audio In port and fires up immediately when I start the car (unless my radio does an update.
Not sure about the R55/56 question.
Mine didn't have the speedo ring and the native software speedo did both KPH/MPH.
I didn't care for their interface (car launcher) and purchased Agama Car Launcher. It was like $6 but much nicer setup. I normally run it or Torque Pro. In Torque Pro I have boost. AFR, Ex Temp, Intake temp and a few others. I installed an oil pressure and water temp gauge prior to buying the head unit.
I've been searching for an Android Auto solution for a few years since I got my 2018 F60 SE. And as everyone here knows BMW announced last year they were going to start including AA in new cars, but the 2023 Minis didn't get it. I happened across AAIdrive by BimmerGestalt in a redit forum, found on Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...roidautoidrive
It isn't an AA integration, but it is an interesting project that taps into the Mini Connected app APIs and your calendar, contacts, music and maps on your Android phone. I was pretty surprised that i'm able to use the HU to search on my phone for adddresses and the map show the android maps in my NBT EVO HU. I haven't played with it much, but so far pleasantly surprised.
