In parting out some first generation MINIs, I have found these genuine MINI DownTube inserts are different varieties without consistency.
So I can not generalize their usage however the inserts will fit R50 02-06, R52 05-08, R53 02-06.
May have been installed on facelift MINIs only. However, can be retrofitted as stated in above chart.

NOW have correct left and right sides. In my salvage yard experience, the inserts are found on pre-facelift MINIs but can be easily retrofitted to any 1st generation.
