Cruise Control light blinking twice and not engaging
I have an '05 R52 S, and Cruise Control used to work great. I ran into an issue with starting the engine which i thought was the EWS but ended up just being a blown fuse. I can't pinpoint exactly when, but sometime after that my cruise control stopped working. The green light on the tach blinks twice, but then turns off. I've replaced the brake switch (and even had the MINI dealer re-adjust it for me), but that didn't fix it. I've seen people talking about a diode that needs to be replaced, though I'm seeing conflicting information as to whether it's in the passenger footwell or related to the Power Steering pump fan wiring harness. I had MINI replace the Power Steering pump fan under a recall, so maybe something went wrong with that? My brake lights work fine and don't stay on, so I'm not sure that's the issue. As far as I know, my car hasn't gotten very wet inside.
Where is this diode that's related to the brakes, and how can i check it? Any other things I should look for?
