Faux K & N Apollo Installation

A few weeks ago I installed an eBay faux K & N Apollo Filter in my Paceman. I am actually surprised with the quality of the product. The filter is very well made. Intake temps average +5 degrees ambient at highway speeds and +12 in stop and go city. Eventually I may pop for the K&N, but this seems to be doing the job for the moment. Just ditch the cheap hose that comes with it for a silicon pipe to connect to the MAF and get a pair of good hose clamps.

Nice install

That is what the older version of the Defenders of Speed intake looks like.

the only difference is it has the pipe to connect the air pipe from the front that is on the R56.

really does make a difference and more noise.

Thanks. I was thinking about adding a small pipe to connect to the (now removed) front air pipe, I may yet - can't bring myself to cutting the filter housing!
