I don't have a Mini "Checkmate"...But I really like the hood/bonnet decal.

I would love to have it in black to accent my dark silver metallic R53.
Anyone know where I can find it in black?
I've searched - I can find it in silver... but I've seen a Mini sporting it in black. So I've got myself convinced that it is available.... Somewhere?

Glad someone else may have remembered seeing one as well. I knew I wasn't seeing things when I noticed the guy driving his MINI with that hood decal - in black.
That was the first time I've ever seen that on a Mini. Which in turn prompted my search.

IIRC reading the old (and very long) Checkmate thread, the "U' shaped bonnet stripes weren't installed on certain exterior paint colors. Instead in those cases, standard / traditional black stripes were installed. If so, unlikely to find what you're looking for...

 

You won’t find that bonnet graphic in black from MINI, but you can have one custom made as @jacktown recently did.

 

Not a checkmate, but as @JackMac said, I added this in homage to my first r53 back in 2008, a space blue checkmate. Any decent vinyl wrap place should be able to make one of these for you based on showing them a good image.

 

Yeah, what Jack (above) said.
Most any vinyl printer should be able to print the strip, as long as he can get a good scan of one, then enlarge it to scale.
Don't know what the cost might be though !!

Yep! - That was my thought/next step exactly!
IMO - It is hard to deny that is truly one of the cleanest, coolest hood decals for a Mini.
