F56 A/C is blowing hot air. Need help
Greetings.
Mini Cooper F56 2015 (Mileage:55k)
The AC on my car recently stopped working and I want to try and see what I could check at home before taking it to the mechanic. They quoted me $2,000 to change it in south FL, after saying my AC compressor is not working. Some other said the clutch is faulty…
**The AC was recharged** and still wasn’t working.
At the mechanic, they told me “we hit the compressor several times to jumpstart it and give you time to arrive home with AC”
Symptoms:
1- Blows hot air
2- When the A/C button is on, the flow of air coming out the vents is very minimal. Almost forced

I had a similar problem on my 1996 Range Rover. It turned out that the voltage controlling the clutch was too low. I think I bypassed a thermistor to work around the problem. Does it really cost $2000 to replace an AC compressor nowadays? Shop around and compare. Good luck!
