Hello, my 2004 MINI Cooper R53 tailgate won't open with the second turn of the key. I now have to open the tailgate manually with the pull ring located under the back seat. Is there a way to get the tailgate to open with the key again? This just happened today. 2004 Mini - tailgate won't open with the second turn of the key or the toggle switch in the dash. I can only open it manually with the pull ring under the back seat. Can I get it to work remotely again?

Reason: To add the model type
I just fixed it by spraying some white Lithium Grease into the lower latch mechanism.
Now it opens and closes with no problem when I press on the key twice.
