Rules of Mini

Learned the first rule, always park next to another Mini! Mine is the grey one!

A good start in defensive parking. I would have parked closer to the left side curb.

I always look for a Mini to park next to, but sometimes I miss it when I’m scanning the parking lot.

If this is your first Mini, here is some fun stuff:

I always try to back into the spot, too. Makes it easier to pull out, especially when some much bigger is next to you and can’t see around them.

I'm too afraid to park next to people. Yes, I'm that guy who parks at the end of the parking lot. But next to a Mini is probably safer than lots of other spots =)

Thank you! Yes, this is my first mini. Drove it home from NY to FL. It was only one of two I could find with manual transmission.

Nice with the manual transmission. A dying breed...
When I was buying, it was incredibly hard to get a manual. It was during a pause in importation of manual transmissions so I couldn't customize like I wanted. But on the bright side, the comfort package is actually much better than I thought =P

Points are taken off for parking under a tree! Birds and sap, the bane of my existence!!

Once I parked at the end of the lot, next to an island which I failed to note had a tree planted in it. It was down on the coast and a roosting egret unloaded all over my convertible top on my XJS. A door dent might have been less painful than that mess.

Great thread.
