HELP : Retrofit Options for 2010 CCC head unit with HK
Hi - Looking for help here. Have trawled the forum, but don't see a thread specifically related to the options for head unit replacement/upgrade for the CCC head unit. Mine is a 2010 (10/2009 build) R55 Clubman S, with factory navigation, Harmon Kardon sound, backup PDC. Non touch screen.
I'd like to add Apple CarPlay, but the usual options out there don't appear to be compatible.
Has anyone done this specific upgrade ? Would like to be able to use the steering wheel controls and retain OE beeps/chimes etc. Would prefer to convert to a touch screen, but would be happy to control the original screen via joystick if that's either easier/cheaper or the only option. Would also prefer to keep factory speedo if possible.
Apologies in advance if I have missed a thread that already details this. Parts lists, hints and tips all gratefully received.
Bumping this thread, because I want to replace my CCC Headunit against a Android / Carplay Radio too, but all Radios are for Radio Boost erc. but none of the are for a Mini with CCC Headunit...
I saw in the Mini2.info forum (german) that someone put in a iSmart carplay device into his car, so he can switch between the normal radio and Carplay/Android Auto.
Only drawbacks: the corners are cutted out, because the display isnt square..
Bump,
I have been looking into this too, as I bought a similar CarPlay device from Unichip years ago, and it turn out it was for the LCI cars with the CIC unit.
I recently found this device by Bremmen Parts on ECS Tuning and wondering if anyone has tried it. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-bremmen-...1954la02-04~a/
ECS confirmed with me it is for CCC, so pre LCI models like my 2009 MINI should be compatible.
At this point, I will be content with using my existing navigation screen.
