Well, this just sucks. Just got the following message from bmwpartsworldwide...Hi Joseph,

Starting tomorrow we will no longer be a authorized Mini dealer. So all parts ordered from here on will be cancelled. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Dennis

I am very bummed. Another MINI dealer bites the corporate big one. Best prices bar none as well.

Sad.

^^^ Bad news for sure. "Dennis" has been the parts department contact some of us have corresponded with. My ininformed suspicions are even deeper, since non-MINI dealers have and continue to sell OEM parts (including notable forum sponsors). From that, perhaps this dealer is closing doors entirely. If so, sad state affairs likely directly related to lack of new (and used) car inventory, which just leaves maintainence and repair work plus the parts department. Perhaps a trend which will continue.

This is bad news indeed. Last week, I placed an order with bmwpartsworldwide for parts totaling a little under $400. That's $100 less than the vendor from which I had planned to order. The parts shipped today and will be delivered tomorrow (I'm only one state away). Can't beat that.

Yep you have to be an authorized seller of MINI cars to sell them and have a wholesale distribution, same with Motorad and Rolls Royce also. Stinks to see another MINI dealership drop out of car sales if thats what happened.

I assume it's still possible to order BMW parts. Anyone know it that's the case?

Here is the last email I got from Dennis -

I apologize Joe. The owner of this dealer decided to let Mini go after trying to get more new cars from them numerously. They were only sending us 2 new cars a month which doesn't help the dealer make anything. Parts were also lacking and taking some time to get depending on availability. With all this it just wasn't making the dealer any profit for the owner. We still have the BMW side if you ever need BMW parts. We might be adding another brand to the dealer just not sure what it is yet. Thanks again for being a great customer.
