R55 What does this icon mean?
What does this icon mean?
09 Clubman non S
I start may MINI and occasionally there is an yellow icon that looks like a headlight with the beams pointing to the left. All the head, fog and tail lights are working. The only light that is the marker light (not turn signal) in the driver's side wheel trim, the socket was missing when I got the car.
The Foxwell scanner shows one lighting related code to for the marker light. This was present prior to the dash light.

Check the connector? The ECU sends out a voltage pulse, and monitors the current through the circuit. If the current is out of spec, it determines the bulb is bad. That's why LED bulbs will cause a bulb out error.
This one is still confusing me. None of the bulbs have been replaced with LEDs. All of the bulbs work. The only one that is out is the drivers front yellow marker light on the wheel arch, it is missing and was not there prior to this.
My son thinks that maybe the light is going bad and may not be drawing the correct voltage even though it works. I think he is onto something as it matches what njaremka said about how the ECU test this. If this is the case how do I know what one it is? Is this warning only for the high beams?
