wondering what kind of mile per gallon on an S in Green Mode
Just wondering ... what kind of gas mileage can one expect in a Cooper S in Green Mode on strictly highway driving if driving at or near the speed limit?
i have as 2016 non-S four door and on Green Mode i get 44 mpg if driving 70 mph if straight highway driving
the current non-S coopers no longer offer the 'Driving Modes' option, you need to get a Cooper S if want the driving modes ....i do a lot of boring highway miles so i use the Green Mode
but like to put in Sport Mode if bored and driving on the rural roads near me....would miss having that option, but not sure i'd want to spring for the S as i like the overall better gas mileage on a non-S especially with gas prices these days

Just got a 22 S. I got 38 on one tank and 35 on another, calculated from actuals. Driving with a light touch. I'm at about a half tank now and it says 41, but you know how that goes.
My '17 non S had a 3 cyl. engine, 6 speed hydraulic auto transmission, no green mode, and got the same mpg as you did on yours. What's interesting about the green mode on the S is that the 7 speed dual clutch auto disengages when you lift your foot off the accelerator so that you coast. You can be a daredevil and still be green, hah.
The only cars on the lots were S's and I didn't want to wait 6 months.

Not in Green mode. Some in sport and normal. Just depends on your foot and speed. MPG's in the 40's were at about 65 mph on interstates with my wife following our RV. Most mid to upper 30's were at 75 or so.
Didn't see a difference when in green mode.

I love the three cylinder. Owned one for 3 months traded for S more for the LED headlights and other goodies. I'd drive a 3 cylinder again. On the highway ramp to ramp for 45 miles I got 54mpg three times driving light footed, at about 65 - 75 mph (hardtop). I hope you enjoy your.s
The '17 3 cylinder I just traded in had surprising pickup for passing. 40 mpg regularly, and had only one small issue with the gas tank ventilation electro valve.in 148,000 miles. Hopefully the '22 S will be similar except for somewhat lower mileage. It's a stiffer ride, maybe because of the lower profile run flat tires.
edit: you can choose options for eco mode so that you can turn on/off coasting and hvac eco mode. I turned off eco mode for hvac because I noticed the seat heat didn't get as hot. If I turn on the seat heat, I want it as soon as possible and as hot as possible-I only keep it on for a little while anyway. Am I missing out on some A/C economies? Maybe. I hardly run that anyway. As I mentioned earlier, I use the coasting mode a lot.
