Add Adaptive Cruise on a '22 F56?

Just got a '22 F56. There must be a front camera because it recognizes speed limit signs and does the steering wheel rumble on lane departure.

Is there a way to add adaptive cruise? I don't know what the steering wheel buttons look like, but they'd have to be added, along with coding it in. We have it on another car and its kinda neat.

From what I've read, it uses optical sensors but doesn't also use radar to judge the distance in front of the car, like some other brands. This means it gets blinded by the sun in certain conditions and just gives up. Just want to set your expectations that it may not work as well as what you've used before, depending on what make your other car is.

As for whether it can be added, I can't recall anyone on here doing it, but that doesn't mean it's impossible. Good luck.

Thanks for replying.

The other car is a Crosstrek. It seems to have two cameras, one on either side of the mirror. I haven't used it under all weather conditions (my wife usually drives it).

The LIM switch seems like a total waste to me.

I'm not even sure you could buy a replacement switch. Maybe you'd need a replacement steering wheel.

Seems like it'd be complex and costly. Plus I'm not a trail blazer.

Today I retrofited ACC in F56 LCI2 JCW 2021/03 (Handbrake type, not E-Brake). Add SAS ecu and code.

Very Nice! Any details on how you did it? I'd have many questions.

PS: Nice gauge setup.

PPS: On my last MINI, I activated Satellite radio. Although it didn't come with it, the capability was there. It's a foggy memory now, but it involved download some software, plugging into the obdc port, buying a password (or something), recoding the car for the satellite package, while sweating bullets hoping I didn't brick it. It worked though. Of course, I discovered later I wasn't a super fan of satellite radio (maybe for long trips).
